WHAT THE DIFFERANCE LIKE 4.8 5.3 6.0 ARE LQ'S RITE?? LS ARE MORE SS RITE??? CAN SUMONE EXPLAIN 2 ME??? SORRY ABOUT THE ??? NEWBIE. LOL.

ls series(genIII)are all 4.8-5.3-5.7-6.0,THE LQR-LQ9 ARE JUST GM CODES FOR THE 2 6.0'S AVAILABLE-LQ4 300 HP OUT OF HD MODELS,LQ9 345-367HP OUT OF SS,ESCALADE,DENALI ETC...NOW THE BADDEST LSX BLOCK FOUNDATION FOR ANY PROJECT= WELL JUST WATCH THIS=

Yeah 5.3 is GenIII, the only lq's that I know of are lq4 and lq9 both being 6.0's.

I believe the '04+ 4.8s and 5.3s are considered GenIV since they were redisigned similarly to the LS2s. (thermostat, etc.) I could be wrong.

Like I said, could be wrong. lol

The 2005 5.3s LH5, LY5 are true Gen IVs (DOD), all LM7s and LR4s are Gen IIIs, since they never came out with DOD.
